Konstantinos Karalas
I am currently the Head of Digital Investigations Unit at the Hellenic Competition Commission leading the development, implementation, and management of digital forensics and investigations processes within the organization.
During my career, I have worked on building and delivering end to end data-intensive services in diverse industries (enterprise, agriculture, IoT). I really enjoy applying data processing, data mining, machine learning, big data technologies, and predictive analytics to help businesses solve real-world problems.
In my academic life, I obtained an Executive MBA in Entrepreneurship from University of the Aegean in 2021, advised by Konstadinos Kutsikos. Furthermore, I hold an MSc in electronics with a focus on machine learning and remote sensing satellite imagery from Technical University of Crete in 2015, advised by Michalis Zervakis. As part of my MSc research programme, I joined the Institute of Computer Science of FORTH, collaborating with the Signal Processing Laboratory of Panagiotis Tsakalides. Before that, I received a Diploma (MEng) in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Technical University of Crete in 2013. My thesis was on sentiment analysis under the supervision of Vassilis Digalakis.
