Abstract

The aim of the study is to gain some fundanental insight in the dynamics of the flow during mixing in a co-rotating twin screw extruder. Numerical calulations were conducted in the three regions of the extruder: I) the main flow away from the nip region of the twin extruder channel, II) the nip region of the channel and III) the kneading blocks area of the extruder.
