Welcome to my home page



I hold a tenured teaching staff position at the Applied Mathematics and Computers Laboratory of the School of Production Engineering and Management of the Technical University of Crete (TUC). I also act as Director of the Life Long Learning Center of TUC.
I hold a PhD in Computer Science - Artificial Intelligence from the Paris Descartes University (Paris-V), a Master in Science in the field of Organization and Administration from the Technical University of Crete and a Diploma in Computer Engineering and Informatics from the University of Patras.
My PhD thesis was titled "The Agents Systems Engineering Methodology - ASEME" and it included the definition of the Agent Modeling Language (AMOLA). For more information you can visit the ASEME web site.

Research Interests

My research interests mainly focus in Information Systems and the Agent Technology field, especially in Agent Oriented Software Engineering (AOSE) and in Knowledge Representation and Reasoning Methodologies in Computational Argumentation. I am also interested in Model-Driven Engineering (MDE), behavior specification for robotic teams (and Industry 4.0), Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), the Semantic Web, and, Artificial Intelligence Applications in the fields of Ambient Intelligence (AmI, IoT), Finance, e-commerce, Ambient Assisted Living (AAL) and personalized Infomobility services using technologies from the areas of Multi-Agent Systems (MAS), Argumentation, Multi-Criteria Decision Making, Hybrid Intelligent Systems, etc.
