About Me

" The best preparation for tomorrow is doing your best for today". The aforementioned quote represents Vasileios' motivations and future goals. As senior student in Electrical Engineering he aims through Biomedical Field to harvest the seeds that is planting today. Specifically, he likes contributing in research area and in humanity.

The present and the near future

Vasileios currently is an Electrical & Computer Engineer and he is going to work at CERN as technical student in Big Data Technologies aspects. He successfully completed a  research project for source reconstruction using combined EEG/MEG Data for Presurgical Epilepsy Diagnosis. Also he pursued an internship at CERN during summer 2018 as Intel Openlab fellow in Performance and Scalability Tests using Spark, Kubernetes - Openstack & Hadoop.  Furthermore he worked at Institute of BioMagnetism & BioSignanalysis in University of Muenster, Germany as Researcher for Computational Neuroscience and Epilepsy.

The future goals

It is worth mentioned that he would leverage the chance if he is suggested in a position of Biomedical Engineer, Image & Signal Processing Engineer, BioInformatics Engineer, Data Scientist & Machine Learning Engineer as well. Additionally, he would be pleased to be accepted as a PhD candidate for research in Neuroscience.

Thesis Title: Characterization of Epileptic Activity based on Integrated Functional Network from
MEG Data on a realistic Head Model

Abstract: In this research work combined EEG/MEG Data are being processed in order to extract information about epileptic foci. Epilepsy is characterized by spikes and these are indicators of activity in certain brain region. By applying sophisticated pipeline & algorithms it aims in exact localization of  epileptic sources in a non invasive way and in characterizing the interaction between them thus helping in presurgical epileptic diagnosis.
