Curriculum vitae

Curriculum vitae is a document used to present the background and skills of an individual. CVs can be used for a variety of reasons but are more often used to secure a new job. A typical curriculum contains a summary of relevant work experience and relevant editorial training. The curriculum vitae is one of the first things a prospective employer sees along with the cover letter and the job application and is usually used
by the employer to select applicants who will be interviewed. A Curriculum Vitae is short (usually one to three pages) and highlights those aspects of a person's background that are directly related to a particular job. Many biographies contain keywords that potential employers are looking for, a multitude of energetic verbs, and expose their content in a glamorous way.
A Curriculum Vitae is a marketing tool in which the content should be tailored to suit every job application targeted at a specific industry. The complexity or simplicity of the different forms a CV may have differs from person to person. Biographies used by professional doctors, teachers, artists, and other specialists may be somewhat larger.
