Short Bio
John Agadakos is a professional Computer Engineer. He currently holds a Diploma* in Electronic and Computer Engineering and a Master of Science Degree,
both from the Technical University of Crete. During and after his first degree, he was employed by Intralot; a leading international company for gambling and entertainment IT services.
He worked for 3 years and 6 months as a Software Engineer in the R&D department. During his time in the company he developed and maintained several platforms, his main objective was a Control Management system
that was able to monitor and control several tens of thousand terminals. Furthermore besides his tasks as a developer he supervised alongside other engineers the projects of Vermont(USA) and Amsterdam(Holland). During his final
year in the company he initiated his Master Of Science degree, which for a time he pursued in parallel with his work in the company. While working towards his Master Degree he was drafted in the army, where he served for one year
in the 79 National Guard, positioned in Samos. After his army service he continued working towards his degree, leaving the company to focus towards research. on 2013 he started
working as a researcher in the Geo Informatics Lab under Dr Partsinevelos, later on this year he received his Master's Degree. Since then besides his ongoing work in the GeoLab he has completed
a number of projects as a private contractor for other research teams in the Technical University of Crete. His research interests mainly lie in the areas of embedded systems, high performance computing, smart environments and computer vision
. In his spare time he pursues many different activities; he is an avid sportsman and an enthusiastic fun of fantasy fiction, Lovecraft and Howard amongst his favourite writters.
