WiAMS Project : DEVELOPMENT AND EVALUATION OF A WIRELESS REAL-TIME MONITORING SYSTEM FOR STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY ASSESSMENT OF CONCRETE STRUCTURES USING A SMART PIEZOELECTRIC SENSOR NETWORKResearch Team TUC_AMELMain Research Group Costas Providakis, Professsor (Curriculum Vitae) Deputy Head of the Department of Applied Sciences Director of Applied Mechanics Lab Department of Applied Sciences, Technical University of Crete University Campus, GR-73100 Chania, Greece Tel: +30.28210.37637, fax: +30.28210.37866 Email: cpprov@mred.tuc.gr URL: http://users.isc.tuc.gr/~kprovidakis/index.html The primary investigator Professor Costas Providakis is the leader of TUC_AMEL research team which maintains research interests in the area of structural integrity and durability, structural health monitoring, smart materials, mechanics of solids, damage mechanics, structural analysis and conservation of monuments, structural dynamics and antiseismic analysis of structures, computational mechanics, and optimization. The faculty members of TUC_AMEL research team have over 200 publications, have authored four books and edited 5 other books related to computational mechanics, structural conservation of monuments, seismic risk and applied structural mechanics. They have co-ordinated and participated as project managers, main researchers or researchers in many national and international projects related to innovative techniques for structural integrity and analysis. A high percentage of the above research projects are financed by private companies that work on construction, structural analysis and production of innovative structural materials and the rest one by the Hellenic General Secretariat of Research and Technology, the EU or other public resources, etc. Five of the recent publications are mentioned indicatively below:
John Tsompanakis, Associate Professor (Curriculum Vitae) Department of Applied Sciences, Technical University of Crete University Campus, GR-73100 Chania, Greece Tel: +30.28210.37634, fax: +30.28210.37866 Email: jt@science.tuc.gr
Maria Stavroulaki, Lecturer (Curriculum Vitae) Department of Applied Sciences, Technical University of Crete University Campus, GR-73100 Chania, Greece Tel: +30.28210.37639, fax: +30.28210.37866 Email: mstavr@mred.tuc.gr
