The Department of Mineral Resources Engineering
of the Technical University of Crete was created in
1993 by Presidential Decree 52/83. The objectives of
the Department are to train engineers and researchers
in the full range of activities related to mineral resources
exploitation and its impact on the environment, using
technologically advanced and environmentally friendly
methods.
Mineral Resources Engineers can follow a wide range
of professional careers focusing on the exploitation
of various fossil fuels in energy production (natural
gas, supersaturated natural gas, petroleum, coal) and
other energy resources (geothermal fluids), as well
as various industrial minerals and metals.
Our graduates find jobs both in the public and the
private sectors of the Greek economy. A large percentage
of the graduates pursue graduate studies in Universities
both in Greece and abroad.
